Phillip John Smith Jr, "P.J."

P.J.'s love of art started at an early age. His father, a potter and art teacher made sure P.J. grew up around art of all kinds and always encouraged him to pursue his love of art. P.J. also grew up hunting and fishing in Casper Wyoming. His love of the outdoors really shows in his paintings. P.J. attended the University of Wyoming and Casper College taking many art courses. He eventually ended up in Livingston, MT where he made the commute to Bozeman every day in order to obtain his BFA from Montana State University. With his studio now in Billings, P.J. works with a variety of painting genres including landscapes, fly fishing, wildlife and still life.
